Without Ever Knowing The Way
Aimlessness, Sue-ism, and Other Forms of Stupidity
Parents are fighting. Guh. I wouldn't mind so much if they hadn't been locked in combat for the entire weekend.
So what's good today? Umm.
Nyohah sent me e-mail :^) Says the thread is interesting but doesn't really know where it's going. That's ok, neither do I ;^) Nearest I can tell, it's got something to do with an evil dude named Lorndolf and the exponentially-hastening fall of Edenia. Her character Lireche apparently will have a hand in that; really it depends on who's next and what they post, and how it all plays together...I've tried to do that at least, yeah? Make sure that everyone's maunderings are at least (sort of) in a row. One of my larger posts was actually an elaborate variation of one of the ones preceeding it, so there's at least a pretense of continuity there.
It comes down to waiting, and then letting the characters in my control--Evan, Jhera, Valene, Nangla, and Wylend Falgiere--react to whatever happens around them. Lireche's fire-starting was utterly brill, it was something swell to react from, I really liked that :^D I plunked down a province- name of Ermax's down in the thread, but I don't think anybody noticed ;^) Sullace, for the curious ;^) I'm really skittish to pick up someone else's work though, except in a tertiary sort of way..."shaken, not stirred. Stirring bruises the gin." And suppose I stir by mistake, y'know?
I'm nothing if not gutless :^D
Supposing I gather up the nerve, I'd like to pit Vaudkin and Wylend against each other, see what happens. Wylend has got some sort of position on or with the Senate; an indeterminate kind of influence, or Nangla wouldn't be dealing with him. She's evil at first glance, huh? Nah--she's got family in Ghan'drid, and they're more important to her than the confidentiality of Sindel's information. That's her reasoning--"Blights in Sullace? Nothing new there, and she'll be speaking on it in a few days anyway. I don't know what he needs it early for, but that's hardly my problem." She and Wylend have been trading bits of gossip off and on for years, all of it grey-area stuff. She'd never intentionally hurt the Queen's interests--not when it's Sindel that put her where she is. However if backed into the wall, she folds, every time. Pointless sidenote: in my own continuity, Nangla is the carrier-mother of a certain violet-clad genetic aberration...
Valene knows something is going on, and that something is going to be the presence of Shang Tsung. A bit difficult to explain, given Lorndolf's presence already, but I'll come up with something. Ditto Wylend--Vaudkin's competition, perhaps? Or he may have things to fear as regards Lorndolf's apprentice, who as far as I know hasn't even got a name yet...
I'll worry about it later. G'night. :^)
